Ask for Dex gives you one marketing lead to keep your work moving

Ask for Dex (Designated Enablement Expert) is your dedicated marketing lead at Markage. Share your to-do list and priorities. Dex updates your website, plans and schedules your posts, and prepares simple email sends. You review and approve the work. Then Dex sends everything and tracks what comes next.

No more juggling tools, freelancers, and clients

After years of helping small businesses, we saw owners trying to handle too many things at once. Most owners do not need another position to hire. They need a clear way to keep marketing moving without burning out or taking chances on random hires. With Dex, you get a marketing studio at your side, not a staffing agency.

What Ask for Dex actually does for your business

Dex is your website and page coordinator

Dex is your campaign and funnel helper

Dex is your email and follow-up organiser

Dex is your social content scheduler

Dex is your bridge to design on-demand

Dex is your marketing tech guide

Dex is your campaign task manager

How to get started with Ask for Dex

Step 1: Tell us what you need

You and Dex have a short phone or video call. Dex asks simple questions about your business, your website, your main offers, and which channels matter most to you. Together you make a short list of what to work on first: key pages, posts, emails, and basic campaigns.

Step 2: Set your work rhythm

We set up your Studio Desk inside Markage and agree on a steady schedule. This can include one or two website updates per month, a simple social posting pattern, and a basic email schedule. Everything is written in one shared list so you can see what is planned.

Step 3: Send notes, see progress

From now on, send Dex notes and changes in plain language. Dex turns them into tasks, works with our web, design, and content team, then brings drafts back for your review. Each cycle you see what went live, what is in progress, and what comes next. Step by step, Dex builds a simple weekly system that keeps you visible.

Your first 30 days with Dex: an example

Dex works on what you need. Some clients use Dex only for email campaigns. Others use Dex only for social media or website updates. You choose your focus areas.

Here is one example of how the first 30 days can work:

  • You start with an onboarding call. Together you set up a shared task list and agree on how approvals will work.
  • You choose 1 to 3 focus areas to start, such as website updates, email, social media, campaigns, and more.
  • Dex begins working on tasks in your chosen areas.
  • Drafts come back for your quick approval, then go live.
  • You review progress and refine what is working.
  • Dex schedules follow-up work so nothing stalls.
  • At the end of 30 days you receive a summary of what shipped and a plan for the next month with updated priorities.

Why Ask for Dex Outperforms Traditional Options

Ask for Dex In-House Teams Creative Agencies Freelancers DIY Tools
Dedicated Marketing Lead ~Possible, but you manage hiring and HR. Shared coverage, not dedicated. Availability varies by contractor. No lead; tools do not manage work.
Team Location (Timezone & Culture) ~Yes, if you hire locally. ~May include offshore/shared resources. ~Can involve timezone gaps. Not applicable.
Studio Resources (Design, Web, Content) Requires multiple hires for full coverage. ~Often siloed teams and handoffs. You coordinate vendors and QA. No execution support.
Total Cost vs Hiring (CAD) $65k–$90k+/yr plus benefits, tools, and management time. $3k–$10k+/mo plus contracts and change requests. ~Variable invoices plus coordination time. ~Low tool cost, high time cost.
HR + Admin Overhead Cost Hiring, onboarding, payroll, reviews, turnover risk. Vendor management, contracts, and follow-ups. Briefing, QA, handoffs, chasing updates. Your time becomes the overhead.
Cancel / Pause Terms Employment constraints and termination costs. Often contract minimums and notice periods. ~Varies by contractor and availability. Stop anytime (your time is the cost).
Execution Rhythm ~Depends on bandwidth and priorities. Often campaign-focused, not maintenance. ~Depends on availability and response time. Often delayed without dedicated time.

Quick Fact Checks

  1. Ask for Dex is a real person on the Markage team, not software.
  2. You are buying steady monthly marketing completion, not hourly time. Full-time assigned means one main Dex owns your task list and follow-through during business hours, not unlimited same-day turnarounds.
  3. Dex may use AI tools when they help speed and consistency. A person reviews before anything goes live.
  4. Dex helps you avoid hiring work like recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and day-to-day management.
  5. You have one main Dex for continuity, with studio support available when needed.
  6. You are not buying a fixed number of posts each week. Weekly rhythm depends on quick approvals and limited revisions. If you choose deep polish on one item, fewer items will go live that month.
  7. The goal is simple. Less owner attention spent on marketing tasks, and more finished work delivered in a steady weekly rhythm.

FAQs

1. What is Ask for Dex?

Ask for Dex connects you with a real marketing person on the Markage team. That person is your Dex (Designated Enablement Expert). Dex works from a Studio Desk with access to web, design, and content support. Dex focuses on your priorities. The work can include website updates, pages, social posts, emails, and ad campaigns.

2. Is Ask for Dex a virtual assistant or a recruiting service?

Ask for Dex is neither a virtual assistant service nor a recruiting service. Dex is a marketing specialist based in Canada who understands the local market. Your Dex is already part of the Markage team, with access to web, design, and content resources. You get help right away without hiring, training, or managing anyone.

3. What kind of work can Ask for Dex help with?

Ask for Dex helps with standard marketing tasks that need regular attention. Your Dex can help with:

  • Website and blog updates.
  • Social media work, including Facebook groups and inbox management.
  • Contact forms and online appointment booking.
  • Marketing design and basic video editing.
  • Simple funnels and lead generation.
  • Brochures, flyers, and presentation decks.

Dex handles the work. You provide direction and approval. Everything stays organized in your shared Studio Desk so you can see what is done and what comes next.

4. Do you use AI agents that run my marketing 24 hours a day?

No. AI tools can draft quickly, but they still need proper setup, accurate inputs, and careful review before posting. Most small business owners do not have time to set up or monitor AI agents every day. Dex may use AI tools during the work to improve speed and consistency. A person checks quality, brand fit, and errors before anything goes live.

5. What will Ask for Dex not do?

Ask for Dex provides ongoing monthly marketing execution support.

  • Dex does not handle sales calls or live customer service. Inbox management means marketing-related messages and routing. It does not include handling customer support conversations.
  • Dex does not do bookkeeping, accounting, or legal work.
  • Dex does not manage complex or high-risk advertising budgets. Dex can help with basic ad setup and maintenance within agreed limits.
  • Dex does not replace senior specialists such as expert designers, developers, or PR professionals.

You keep control of sales conversations, financial decisions, and specialist advice. Dex focuses on the marketing tasks that support your business.

6. How will you protect my privacy and data?

Markage follows its Data Classification, Retention and Disposal Policy to protect your information. Your data is treated as confidential and shared only with team members who need it to complete your work. We follow Canadian privacy laws and Canada’s Anti-Spam Law (CASL) for email marketing. We keep your data only as long as needed to serve you, meet legal requirements, or maintain security. After that, your data is permanently deleted. When we use outside tools such as social platforms or analytics services, we share only what is necessary under privacy agreements. You can ask us to delete your data earlier when the law permits.

7. Do I keep ownership and control of my accounts and files?

Yes. You keep full ownership of your website, domains, social accounts, ad accounts, and marketing files. Dex works with access you approve. We use safe access practices and only request what is needed to complete your work.

8. What happens if my Dex changes?

Markage aims to keep the same Dex with your business for as long as possible. If a change is needed, your work continues without delay. We assign another certified Dex who meets our training and certification requirements. Your notes, plans, and key details stay in the studio. A short handover helps you avoid starting from zero. Every Dex meets the same Markage certification standard. This is meant to keep service consistent no matter who supports your business.

9. What if I have concerns about my Dex's work?

Concerns can happen and we take them seriously. If you have a concern, contact your Studio Manager at support@markage.ca. A manager responds within 4 business hours, not an automated system. We review the issue with you, clarify expectations if needed, and adjust the approach. If there is a true mismatch after review, we can assign a different certified Dex.

10. What if I have too many tasks at once?

Dex helps you sort tasks by priority. You tell Dex what is urgent and what can wait. Dex keeps work organized so things stay on track even when your list is long.

11. How fast will I see work go live?

Most work moves in short cycles. Dex prepares a draft, you review and approve, then Dex publishes. We hold drafts for review for up to 2 business days, unless we agree something needs more time or is time-sensitive. If we do not hear back, Dex moves to the next priority and returns when you are ready. Timing depends on the task and how quickly you provide approvals and key details. If something is urgent, tell Dex and we will prioritize it in your shared task list.

12. How do revisions work?

Most items include up to two revision rounds. A revision round means one set of changes after you review a draft. If an item needs more refinement, you choose: keep refining it and put other tasks on hold, or publish a good version now and improve it in the next cycle. This keeps work moving without one item stalling everything.

13. Not ready to commit to $1,990/mo? Can I try Ask for Dex first?

Yes. Start with a 10-Day Pilot Project for $599 one-time. The pilot runs for 10 business days during your local Canadian business hours, 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Dex focuses on in-scope tasks such as email campaigns, social content planning and scheduling, website and page updates, basic funnel setup, and setup for forms, booking, or analytics. You decide how to use the pilot. You can spread time across multiple tasks or focus on one initiative with review and revisions. After 10 business days, the pilot ends and you keep all completed work. If you subscribe within 14 days, the full $599 is credited toward your first month. There is no obligation either way.

14. How much does Ask for Dex cost and how is it billed?

Ask for Dex costs $1,990 CAD each month. This is a flat monthly fee. There are no part-time options and no hourly billing. You pay one clear amount each month that you can plan for.

15. Am I locked into a long-term contract? Can I cancel, pause, or skip?

Ask for Dex is a monthly subscription at $1,990 CAD per month with one flat fee. There is no long-term contract. You can cancel, pause, or skip your next month anytime before your next billing date. There are no penalties and no extra fees. Once onboarding begins or Dex starts work, the current month is not refundable because Dex’s time and studio resources are already assigned to your account. Changes apply to future billing cycles only, not the month already in progress.

16. How does Dex consider Canada’s multicultural market in marketing?

Canada is diverse. If your business serves customers from different cultural backgrounds, Dex can help shape marketing with care so your message feels relevant to your customers.

17. How does Dex adapt to different communication styles or language levels?

Your Dex works at your pace. If you prefer simpler language or more detail, tell Dex. Dex will communicate in clear, plain English without jargon.

18. Where are you based, and do you work with clients outside Canada?

Markage is a Canadian marketing studio with our head office in Vancouver. Ask for Dex works with businesses across Canada. Your Dex matches your local business hours, 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, in your time zone. Communication happens in English. We also support clients internationally in the United States and Mexico with local teams in each country.

19. How do I give work to my Dex and stay in touch?

You can reach your Dex in the way that works best for you: phone, text/SMS, email, or video calls (Teams or Zoom). You can also share information by shared documents or cloud storage such as Google Drive or Dropbox. Dex turns your input into organized tasks, coordinates with the studio when needed, and returns drafts or finished items for your review.

20. What tools and platforms can my Dex work with?

Dex can work with common tools used by small businesses, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and major social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. If you use a different tool, Dex will review it with you during onboarding and confirm what is realistic and safe to support.

21. I already use Markage services. How does Ask for Dex fit in?

If you already work with Markage for website design, managed websites, Designer On-Demand, or other marketing services, Ask for Dex gives you one main person to coordinate everything. Instead of sending separate requests to different teams, you send your work to Dex. Dex works with the studio to move tasks forward and keeps updates in one place.
